My render still can't produce the level of realism I'm searching for, however I switched to Fortran and lowered the rendering time by a factor of 40

Hi,
I can see your great progress in term of transparent and luminescent textures . How can you manage to put a time rendred scene in the same image? Also, it looks like your image isn't made from a set of semi transparent view of the same time-changing object... _________________ Cheers,

This is not a dynamic object. I used Matlab in the developing stage. In this case Fortran is 40 times faster. However with a bit more optimization this speedup will allow rendering video in acceptable time frame. Rendering flight through a large object will definitely uncover the potential of the meshless concept
The background is again just a function of escaping ray vectors and the object is just pure green glass. |

Ah Ok, thanks for the explanation...My mistake, I was thinking about a time rendered scene.

I'm not a Fortran gourou so I can say: C and C++ should be faster _________________ Cheers,

The results are more and more promising however my color frequency model is not getting the best results so I'm gonna have to stop using my homemade color models and try something the official rendering giants are using.

Wow,
the object is great and I love the result of you color model! It looks a bit surreal but hey, it does look good - why care about reality!
Let me encourage you to create even more surreal ones!
Realism with regard to transparency is something almost all renderers fail (or render duration explodes). Guess there's not any capable of all effects though.
The feature list seems overwhelming:
- Surface properties like shinyness, reflection, bumps etc.
interacting with
- Interior properties like refraction, dispersion, newtonian interferences(hey you already have this!!) sub surface scattering and my favourite: double refraction...
this still seems to leave some room for even expen$ixpen$ixpensive renderers.
I think you've rendered great results!
