...k3dsurf?

http://www.msri.org/about/sgp/jim/geom/level/skeletal/index.html

could someone explain the first steps of the workflow or would it be the best idea to buy a "mathematica" handbook? Wink

i tried to copy paste the forms but it seems not to be so easy as that.

thx

Hi Benjamin,

This is very simple. You only have to write their 'short-coded formulas' such as cx out properly, so then you get this:

10.0*(cos(x)*cos(y) + cos(y)*cos(z) + cos(z)*cos(x))
- 5.0*(cos (x*2) + cos (y*2) + cos (z*2))
-14

and K3DSurf will make you a perfect Triply Periodic Surface.

Tip: By default, the x,y,z-range is set from -4 to +4, but if you make it -pi to +pi (just type in like that) or a multiple of it (e.g. -2*pi to 2*pi), you get an whole number of unit cells which looks nicer.

Cheers,
Ferry
